My name is Ali Griego.
I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Technical Communications from Arizona State University. I also have an Associate of Arts from Coastal Carolina Community College.
My degree in technical communications targets a niche area for writing and editing within the technology and science industries.
I currently work as a News Analyst for Dataminr. I gather and analyze information for four different sectors of clientele including media, corporate, finance and public sector.
Prior to my position with Dataminr, I interned as a professional writer for a Fortune 500 technology company writing internal communications.
I'm a skilled creative and technical writer. I'm efficient with utilizing AP Stylebook guidelines, national and international style guides, as well as implementing branded style guides. I've always had a natural voice within my writing but with my corporate writing experience I've sharpened my ability to channel a branded voice.
I regularly create content for the web, writing articles, blogs, newsletters and emails. I am proficient with copyediting, proofreading and comprehensive editing for overall theme, design and layout of a document.
I have experience in global communications including Canada, Europe and Asia. I have experience in corporate event planning and have been involved in communications for acquisitions and mergers.
My background with writing began as a freelance reporter for the UNM campus paper, the Daily Lobo. I was a writer for the culture desk covering local hot spots, the art scene and breaking news. I've interviewed state representatives, local business owners, college professors, addicts and the average Joe. I worked regularly with a team of photographers, videographers and editors to produce content for the web and print within a given deadline.
